Rosie Perez When this adorable little 2 year old Lab mix was found on the streets of Ecuador, she was literally starving and her ears were being devoured by flies. Rosie had nearly given up.

She was taken to a near by shelter where her rescuer started to nurse the frightened dog back to health. A couple of months later, Rosie, now 40 lbs and in perfect health, was sponsored and brought to NYC.

It took her a full day to muster up the courage and venture outside the safety of her foster mom's backyard, and now, after just a few more days, we're pleased to report that our brave and friendly 35 lbs girl looks forward to her walks through Central Park.

Although still a little nervous when first going outside, she's now running to the front door when its her turn for a walk. And once she's outside and realizes that she is still safe, she can't wait to take in all the new smells, sights and sounds.

We notice that each day Rosie is building more confidence in this area. We would love to find her a family who will continue to show her the love and patience she deserves. She's enjoying meeting new people and gets along great with other dogs.

Indoors, Rosie is 100% housetrained. She makes her foster mom laugh when she comes up to her so close they nearly run noses. We're still waiting for that first kiss! Rosie has been spayed and is up to date on all her shots.
