Aurelia is our latest rescue from Ecuador.  Her story is no different than the many we have shared with you in the past.  She was a Stray who wondered around the streets of Quito, the capital of Ecuador — always scavenging for food and searching for shelter, for cover from the rain and from human abuse.  Unfortunately, Aurelia was unable to escape a major impact to her body from a hit-and-run while crossing a street.  Sadly, her injury remained untreated for a long time until one lucky day a woman saw her in front of her house, noticed her deformed body and reached out to Camino a Casa, our rescue partner organization in Quito.  She was examined by a vet and x-rays were taken showing that, miraculously, her fractured spine and leg had healed.

Despite her injuries and homeless past, Aurelia is an amazingly happy and loving dog.  She has all the qualities we all want in a good, family companion — she is sweet, friendly, affectionate, gentle and obedient.  And she loves everyone, including dogs of all sizes.  She is young, approximately 18 months and weighs only 40 lbs.  Other than her deformed body, Aurelia is in overall good health, and walks and plays like any other dog.  All she needs is her very own forever home. She would love a home with another dog,
