Male, Yorkie / Maltese mix, 1.5 years old, 9 pounds

Benny and Bonnie had an owner who passed away and sadly there was no other family to take care of them so they lived in the backyard up fending for themselves with a neighbor occasionally feeding them. Fortunately for them, our volunteer found out about their plight and scooped them up right away. Upon meeting them they were sweet and friendly but in a state of neglect, underweight and with skin issues. With lots of love and medical care they have been nurtured back to health and ready for their forever homes!

Unlike his sister, his foster mom states that he’s super sweet, kind of laid back and a tiny bit shy. Give him a few belly rubs a place on the couch and he’s a happy boy.

Benny has an old cornea injury and we recommend that he see eye doctor with his new family, just as a follow up, but other than that he’s super healthy. Benny is a little over 1 years old, he’s already neutered and weighs just 9 pounds. They do not have to get adopted together.

Benny is part of our International Compassion Program and remains in Puerto Rico until a home can be found for him here in the states.

If you’d like to apply to adopt Benny, kindly submit our online adoption application below.
