Male, Maltese-Shitzu mix, 4 years young, 10 lbs.

From the moment our volunteer found him on Christmas day, Brody’s resilience and will to live has been miraculous.

During his recovery from surgery to treat a diaphragmatic hernia, his patience and gentle spirit was an inspiration to everyone at the animal clinic. After much love from his foster mom and monitoring by dedicated doctors, he is ready to start his new life with the perfect family.

Brody is an independent, mild-mannered young man, who enjoys exploring the outdoors.  He is affectionate, and he loves giving kisses and getting lots of pets and belly rubs! He also enjoys car rides and is well-behaved on a leash.

Brody would be happiest in a quiet home with another small, calm dog or a home in which he is the only dog and gets all the attention and adoration he deserves! He also will need a family that is comfortable with supporting any remaining health needs, such as giving eye drops.

At about 4 years old and ten pounds, this Maltese-Shitzu mix is neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations. He is loving life and can’t wait to join his new family!

If you are interested in welcoming this special boy into your home, contact Kristin at, or, for more immediate consideration, complete an application, which can be found at
