How do you leave a dog outside on the end of a chain 24/7 for 5 years? This poor little 10 lbs Poodle was hardly fed, never groomed, barely acknowledged and deprived of love his whole life until a SFTH volunteer heard about him, rescued him and brought him home. It was there that he first experienced kindness, medical care and socialization. But conditions were crowded and Tobey needed a foster home to continue to thrive. He’s now in So Florida living with his two foster mom’s and their two dogs and cats. We’re amazed at how fast Tobey learned how to trust and how far he’s come with his training in just a short time. With ample opportunity to be outside, he was housebroken almost immediately. He loves going for adventures, especially trips to the dog park. He is friendly with other dogs and enjoys socializing with people, especially when they show him kindness. Having been neglected for so long, he LOVES attention, and cuddling and belly rubs puts him in a state of euphoria we should all know. He actually smiles! But you haven’t really lived until you see him break into his ‘happy dance’ when he tries to get your attention. He’s beyond adorable!  At home, Tobey plays like a puppy, running around, fetching, throwing his toys up in the air, wrestling with the younger dog….clearly making up for lost time. Having been neglected for so long, he is still learning the ropes, like how to walk calmly on the leash. Hes just so happy and excited to go out, that he celebrates each time like its New Years Eve. We would love to find him a home with someone who could continue working with him. With consistency, he’s a fast learner. He just needs a little time and patience…and plenty of love!   Tobey is 5 years old,  neutered, UTD on his shots, hw neg, microchipped and on preventatives.
